BERKELY, IL – DECEMBER 12, 2011 – As most of us are busy planning and shopping for our family and friends, countless Chicago Public School (CPS) children may have to go without any gifts for this holiday season.

For more than 40 years Preferred Meal Systems, Inc. has supplied meals to CPS. This holiday season Preferred Meal Systems employees in Berkeley are providing gifts from its “Secret Santa” program to help needy CPS children who may not be receiving any gifts for Christmas.

Today, a Preferred Meal Systems, Inc., delivery truck which normally delivers meals to CPS was filled with gifts wrapped and fully funded by Preferred Meal Systems employees.  Instead of a sleigh, Santa used the Preferred Meal Systems truck to deliver Christmas gifts to Calmeca Academy located at 3456 W. 38th Street in Chicago. All the gifts will be delivered to students on Friday, December 16.

According to George Chivari, President, Preferred Meal Systems, Inc., a national supplier of healthy, well-balanced component meals, “We have been overwhelmed with everyone’s generosity and support of the Secret Santa program this year.”

“We understand th holidays can be a difficult time for many people.  Our employees have done an outstanding job helping those who need it most,” Chivari said.
